The Aero Precision M5E1 6.5 Creedmoor assembled upper receiver with a 22" heavy barrel is built for shooters who demand precision at distance. This is a complete, ready-to-assemble upper that pairs naturally with DPMS Gen I LR-308 lower receivers, making it an excellent foundation for a long-range target rifle or precision hunting build. The 22" barrel length—paired with a rifle-length gas system—delivers the velocity and sight radius serious distance shooters rely on, while the heavy-profile profile maintains accuracy shot after shot without thermal drift.
Aero Precision engineered this upper around accuracy from the ground up. The barrel is 416R stainless steel with a 1-8" twist rate that stabilizes a wide range of 6.5 Creedmoor target projectiles, finished in a matte bead-blasted surface. The rifle-length gas system is intentionally oversized to moderate gas velocity, which translates to smoother, more reliable cycling and less hammer blow on your bolt carrier group and receiver—a detail that matters when you're pushing a rifle hard at the range or in the field. The forged 7075 T6 aluminum receiver is hardcoat anodized in matte black and ships with the ejection port cover and forward assist already installed.
The M5E1 handguard is Aero's Gen 2 Enhanced M-LOK design with an uninterrupted full-length Picatinny rail on top—perfect for mounting optics or accessories without gaps or shifts. M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions accept slings, lights, and other gear, while textured flats on the handguard give you a secure purchase in any condition. Note: this is an upper receiver assembly only—bolt carrier group and charging handle are not included, so you can spec those to your exact preference and budget.
