The Rearden R2S flash hider is a precision muzzle device built to work with Plan B suppressor mounts. Engineered for shooters running suppressed setups that demand reliability and repeatability, this 15x1 right-hand threaded hider features a tapered shoulder design and a hard black nitride finish (67 HRC surface hardness) that promotes a tight, consistent seal. If you're building or upgrading a suppressed rifle and need a muzzle device that plays well with modern mount ecosystems, the R2S is worth a close look.
Rearden built this hider from 17-4 PH stainless steel, making it compatible with both Atlas and Atlas XL suppressors as well as the Plan B platform. The nitride coating does more than look good—the harder surface actually helps create better alignment and sealing contact between the muzzle device, threads, and your suppressor. That said, proper installation matters. Torque the device to your barrel at 15–25 ft-lbs, use Rocksett on the threads, and confirm it's square against the shoulder before you mount anything on top. Once the suppressor goes on, a 10 ft-lb torque spec keeps everything locked down without over-clamping.
One thing to know: shims are not included. Depending on your barrel, you may need them to time the hider or achieve the right headspace fit—especially if your barrel manufacturer didn't machine a thread relief. Use an alignment rod during setup to verify the whole system is concentric before you head to the range. Clean threads and tapers on both the hider and suppressor will ensure a solid, repeatable mount every time.
| Thread Size | 15x1 RH (right-hand) |
| Material | 17-4 PH stainless steel |
| Finish | Black nitride (67 HRC surface hardness) |
| Mount Type | Plan B taper shoulder |
| Suppressor Compatibility | Atlas, Atlas XL, Plan B mounts |
| Recommended Torque (Device to Barrel) | 15–25 ft-lbs |
| Recommended Torque (Suppressor to Device) | 10 ft-lbs |
The R2S is compatible with Plan B-mounted suppressors, as well as Atlas and Atlas XL suppressors. Your suppressor must have a Plan B-compatible taper to mount correctly.
Shims are not included. Depending on your barrel, you may need them for timing or to achieve correct headspace fit—especially if your barrel lacks a thread relief. Check your barrel spec or use an alignment rod to determine if shims are necessary before final assembly.
Torque the muzzle device to your barrel at 15–25 ft-lbs, and use Rocksett on the threads for a permanent bond. When mounting your suppressor on the hider, torque to 10 ft-lbs. Ensure the device is square against the barrel shoulder before applying any torque.
The black nitride finish (67 HRC hardness) is harder than standard steel and promotes a tighter seal between the muzzle device and suppressor. This helps maintain repeatability and alignment in suppressed setups, but only if threads, tapers, and surfaces are clean and properly torqued.
