The Rearden FHD Flash Hider in 1/2-28 taper is a precision muzzle device built around the Plan B suppressor mount ecosystem. If you're running a suppressor-ready setup and need a rock-solid interface between your barrel and can, this flash hider serves as the anchor point—engineered to work seamlessly with Atlas and Atlas XL suppressors, as well as Plan B-compatible systems. The 17-4 PH H900 stainless steel construction paired with a black nitride finish (67 HRC surface hardness) gives you a durable, corrosion-resistant mount that handles the rigors of centerfire rifle shooting.
What sets this version apart is the larger wrench flats on the rear, making installation and indexing easier in the field or at the bench. The taper-shoulder design requires proper setup to function reliably—your barrel's threads and the device's tapers must be scrupulously clean, and the whole assembly needs to be torqued and rockset to spec. This isn't a quick-attach-and-go accessory; it demands attention to detail. That same precision, however, is exactly why it delivers a consistent, tight seal when a suppressor is mounted.
Whether you're building a precision rifle, upgrading an existing suppressor host, or consolidating your muzzle device inventory around the Plan B ecosystem, the Rearden FHD gives you a proven mounting platform with industrial-grade durability. Note that shims are not included and may be necessary depending on your barrel's thread relief—check your rifle's specs before ordering.
| Thread Pitch | 1/2-28 |
| Mount Type | Taper Shoulder |
| Material | 17-4 PH H900 Stainless Steel |
| Finish | Black Nitride (67 HRC) |
| Compatible Systems | Plan B, Atlas, Atlas XL |
| Shims Included | No |
The Rearden FHD works with Plan B-type mounts and Atlas/Atlas XL suppressors. Check your suppressor's mount type before purchasing. If you're running a suppressor from another manufacturer, verify compatibility first.
Shims are not included with this flash hider. Your barrel may require shims if the manufacturer did not machine a thread relief into it. Inspect your barrel's threads before installation, and order shims separately if needed to achieve proper timing.
Torque the flash hider to the barrel to approximately 30 ft-lbs, then rockset it. When mounting your suppressor to the flash hider, torque the suppressor to 10 ft-lbs. Always use an alignment rod to verify the entire system is concentric before shooting.
The black nitride finish contributes to a tighter seal between the flash hider and suppressor while providing excellent corrosion resistance. Proper torquing and rockset procedures are critical to realize the seal benefits—do not skip these installation steps.
