The Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical SPX is a 12-gauge semi-auto shotgun purpose-built for tactical use, home defense, and sport shooting. This 3-inch chamber model feeds from a tube magazine with a 7+1 capacity and runs on an inertia-driven gas system engineered for reliable, fast cycling across a wide range of ammunition. The 18.5-inch barrel keeps the gun maneuverable in tight spaces while the 37-inch overall length stays compact—ideal for shotgun sports, tactical training, or defensive use where quick target transitions matter.
The receiver is aluminum with drilled-and-tapped mounting provisions and ships optic-ready. Mossberg included a ghost ring sight system with protective fiber optic front sight; remove the ghost ring plate and you can mount any RMSc footprint micro red dot directly to the receiver, or use included adapter plates for RMR, Docter, or Leupold patterns. The barrel features M-LOK slots for mounting lights, lasers, or other accessories. A threaded choke tube (Accu-Choke compatible cylinder tube supplied) lets you fine-tune pellet spread for your load and distance.
