The 18" 4150 chrome-moly-vanadium barrel is chambered in 5.56 NATO (and accepts .223 Remington) with a 1-7" twist and QPQ black finish. The longer barrel length over a standard 16" carbine adds velocity while the rifle-length gas system cycles more gently than shorter configurations, reducing wear and improving reliability through gentler recoil impulses. An A2-style flash suppressor is installed (not pinned or welded), and a low-profile gas block keeps the top rail unobstructed.
The M4E1's forged receiver wears a mil-spec hardcoat anodize and has that distinctive billet-style appearance.
