The JP Enterprises AR-308 cleaning rod guide keeps your rifle's bore in top shape while protecting critical components from unnecessary wear. Unlike traditional muzzle-end cleaning, this breech-fed rod guide lets you push solvents and patches through from the chamber—a smarter approach for AR-platform rifles in .308 and similar calibers. The solid aluminum construction is purpose-built to shield your chamber throat and bore from the dings and gouges that come with rod contact during routine maintenance.
Breech-end cleaning has a real advantage: you're working downrange, with gravity helping solvents flow toward the muzzle rather than pooling in your lower receiver. The integrated rubber O-rings seal the guide around your rod, keeping harsh bore cleaners where they belong—in the barrel, not soaking into your fire control group and springs below. That means less corrosion risk and longer intervals between detailed strip-downs.
Installation is straightforward: the guide replaces your bolt carrier during the cleaning process, then seats into your upper receiver to create a secure seal. The blue anodized finish is both durable and easy to spot on your bench. You may notice small unanodized points at the rear where the part was held during anodizing—that's normal manufacturing and doesn't affect function or durability.
This guide is designed for AR-308 platform rifles. It replaces the bolt carrier during cleaning, so compatibility depends on your upper and lower receiver dimensions. Verify your rifle is chambered for .308 or a compatible cartridge before purchase.
You receive the JP Enterprises AR-308 cleaning rod guide with integrated rubber O-rings. The guide replaces your bolt carrier during cleaning; you'll need a standard cleaning rod (not included) to run through it.
Breech-end cleaning eliminates muzzle-end rod contact, which can erode crown geometry and damage precision. It also allows solvents to flow naturally downrange and keeps cleaning chemicals out of your lower receiver and fire control components.
Small points of bare aluminum at the rear are normal. They're from the fixture used during the blue anodizing process and don't affect the guide's function or durability.
