It's a straightforward upgrade that combines illumination and modularity in one piece.
The integrated tactical light delivers 300 lumens across three distinct modes: momentary activation for quick looks, constant-on for sustained illumination, and rapid strobe for disorienting threats or signaling. The beam profile is engineered for shotgun distances—wide and smooth rather than pencil-thin—so you get usable light in tight quarters. Run time stretches to 3 hours on a pair of AA batteries (included), and the aluminum bezel features a defense-oriented chamfered edge. Everything's weatherproof and wrapped in reinforced polymer that can take field use.
Flexibility is baked in: the light detaches via a quick-detach thumb screw, exposing a 2-inch Picatinny rail underneath for mounting optics, lasers, or other accessories. If you prefer a clean look, a nose cap conceals the rail entirely. The forend is designed for owner installation and is manufactured in the U.S. Note: Mossberg Maverick 88 and Mossberg 500 models made after March 2020 may require a separate forend slide assembly from Mossberg or a parts supplier.
Important: Adaptive Tactical does not recommend using the EX Forend on the Mossberg Shockwave platform, as the forend dimensions could position your hand too close to the muzzle during extreme use, creating serious safety risks.

The EX Performance Forend is designed for Mossberg 500, 590, and Maverick 88 models. However, Mossberg 500 and Maverick 88 shotguns manufactured after March 2020 may require a separate forend slide assembly from Mossberg or a parts supplier before installation. The EX Forend is compatible with the Mossberg Shockwave platform, but Adaptive Tactical does not recommend its use on the Shockwave due to potential safety concerns with hand positioning near the muzzle during extreme use.
Yes. The integrated light features a quick-detach thumb screw design, so you can remove it to expose the 2-inch Picatinny rail underneath. This allows you to mount alternative accessories like optics or lasers. If you don't want to use the rail, an included nose cap conceals it for a streamlined look.
